Creative Clogs – Finding The Clogs and Creatively Unclogging Them
Ever wonder how to unclog your creativity? Well I have and still do. I have found that over the last few months I have not been able to design a new piece of jewelry and therefore have just been doing some of the same things that I have done before. Which is great practice, don’t get me wrong, one always needs to practice their skills. But what about some inspiration? I just could not seem to find any. I started searching my mind, my heart and every book in the house to find some inspiration. I have looked through all the shops here for color combinations and other ideas that might spur my creativity. All to no avail.
So I started to think, I know that it is there, the creativity I mean. How do I find it again. Well first I had to figure out what I was doing. What I found was that I had become so focused on homeschooling my grandson, which is awesome in itself, but what was happening during all those late nights and even during the day was that I spent all my waking hours really doing research. Now that is a good thing because it has given me a lot of insight into homeschooling, a lot of information about what is really going on in public schools but it has also taken a lot of my creativity to turn all that information into a curriculum of our own. Since I don’t purchase curriculum’s, I had to creatively combine many different sources into once cohesive plan for the day, week, and months of education of this child that I am responsible for training to become a responsible, well-educated, empathetic, contributing and most of all God-fearing adult who can maneuver our real world without the issues that plague many of our young people today.
This has served to take away the inspiration for my designing and crafting. What to do about this was another conundrum which again was taking away from my creativity and desire to do anything more. Well. I have decided that there are several things that I must do and hopefully these will work for you as well. Plus, I decided that for me, these had to be done in this order but #1 meant less time for me to do other things.
1. Get more rest.
2. Make sure that there is down time that is just for me, whether it is 15 minutes or a couple hours, just me.
3. Divide what is left of my 24 hours a day into parts, school and research for same, crafting and research for my chosen art of the day as well as some time for marketing.
4. Spend time with friends, online and in person.
Now I have my information, my plan and let’s see how it works. So far so good. 🙂 I got my blog for this month done just under the deadline for the month and that is a good thing.
Just click on any of the images above to check out some creativity from some of our Artists!
Be blessed

I like your plan. #2. the me time is sometimes hard to find- I’d rather be crafting:)
That’s a great little four point plan, I need to implement some of those myself.
time management is very important…and with homeschooling…even more so. I discovered today, that I have not blogged in a week!!! Easter, and getting the garden ready, cleaning the yard for summer…always something to do. but now it’s time to get back to work, and treat my time here as a “real” job, including being creative.
thanks for the encouragment.
