Art By G

Often times you have to find the silver lining in a bad situation which is what Georgie did when her job of ten years in information technology was suddenly outsourced.  Instead of searching out a new job in the same field, Georgie decided to follow her passion for art and dive in full time…the result?  Stunning artwork!

Georgie has always enjoyed working with her hands.  She and her big sister would knit, crochet, bead, macramé, embroider and decoupage…basically anything to keep their hands busy.  Her sister painted and Georgie wanted to do it too.  She didn’t have the confidence to try her hand at it for years but the desire never left.  A few years ago she finally tried her hand at painting and has not looked back since.

In between being married with a daughter, dog and a slew of fish, Georgie started her business, ArtByG by working in acrylics and pastels with an occasional watercolor tossed in for variety.  She is passionate about her work, sometimes getting so lost in the process that the paint on the elbows really doesn’t matter!

Georgie loves the feeling of someone appreciating her work.  She sells both on line and locally in South Georgia.  Her advice to anyone just starting out selling their own work is to market, market and market some more.

If you happen to live in the South Georgia area, Georgie will be making an appearance at some local craft fairs beginning in June.  If you live too far away to check out her work in person, you can find her all over the web; HAFshop, Etsy, Artfire, facebook  and custom portraits and blog at  www.georgiemcneese.com
